Hey Guys,
It has been a fun and exciting week. I just arrived home from playing in the Korean Ladies Masters. I got into Korea late Sunday night and spent all day Monday wandering around Seoul.
It was freezing, three degrees Celsius to be exact! You can imagine how cold that is for a California girl. I spent most of that day inside hiding from the weather, haha. It worked out beautifully. I spent most of the time in restaurants and the mall!
That night I headed to Jeju Island where the tournament was being held. The island is beyond gorgeous! I felt that I was in paradise but freezing cold paradise to be exact! Tuesday, I managed to play 18 holes despite the weather. My drives were going 210!!
Wednesday was the Pro-Am, and the weather was much nicer. After the Pro-Am, there was an amazing gala dinner in which 4 different Korean artists performed. My favorite was an all-girl group called, Next Generation.
I was told that they are very popular in Korea right now. I do not doubt that because they put on an amazing performance!
I didn’t get off to the greatest start at the tournament. Conditions were perfect, warm and hardly any wind, and I was hitting it close but putting terribly. I had so many mechanical thoughts going through my head! After missing easy birdie putts on 2, 3, 5 and 6, I decided to look and shoot. On 7 I holed a 35-footer.

I maintained the same philosophy for the remainder of the round, and whenever I was inside 10-feet, I made the putt! Wind picked up on the back nine, and I was very happy to finish at -3.
The wind was a lot worse from the beginning of Day 2. I started well with a birdie at 1. I then had lip outs on 8 and 9 for birdie but managed to hole one at 11. At this stage I was leading the tournament, although I had no idea. I made great pars on 12, 13 and 14, and then the slow play started to get to me.
By 14 we had been out there over five hours and practically waiting on every shot. I started to lose focus, and I bogied the last four holes coming in. It started to get so cold that I lost feeling in both of my hands. I 3-putted the final three greens! I was disappointed but not surprised.
The round took six hours! Who on earth can focus for that long! Round 3 was really cold. It was raining and super windy. It was worse than the British Open! I played solid but again missed two key putts coming in to get into the play off. I settled for 5th. Not bad, but really disappointing, especially since I was so close.
I will take away a lot mentally and continue to work on the putting! I am looking forward to a week of being home!
Overall I shot rounds of 69, 74, 74 to finish T5.
Till next time.
Best,
Anna Rawson
