Back to the Gym!

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Hey Guys,

This past week I have been getting back into training. I can not tell you enough how great it feels!  It is important to take time off, but I really just love the feeling of working towards something.

On Monday, I started with swing coach Dana Dahlquist. We were very excited to work on a few things together. Last year I got started with tournaments so early on that we didn’t really get the opportunity to work on improvements.  Now that there is time, we have started working on a few problem areas, which are my take away and down swing. It feels great to have some direction, and now I fully understand the faults in my swing from last year.

I also met with sports psychologist Kevin Sverduk.  Kevin was also excited to discuss some things that he felt I needed to be more aware of heading into 2010. The mental game is so important, so I am really focusing on training my brain to think positive!

Of course, I have really dedicated myself to the gym.  My trainer Cheryl Ingram is really working me out! During our sessions, she focuses on working out my glutes, abs, back and shoulder strength. Cheryl also decided that I need more cardio. My feelings on more cardio are, well, not so good haha.

On my days off from Cheryl, I have committed to yoga. She believes yoga is great for increasing my flexibility, and Kevin thinks it will help with my breathing (I hold my breath, which causes tension).

So, as you can see, I have a lot to work on! I love it though. I almost feel like a normal person with a routine life! Almost…

Hope everyone is enjoying his or her week!

Happy New Year

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

Happy new year everyone!

I hope you all had a fabulous holiday season! I had such a great end to 2009. I was so happy to be with my family in Australia. We got to spend quality time together, and of course we played some golf.

I also got to visit the Great Barrier Reef. It was such an amazing sight to see. The coral and fish were bright and vibrant. I left Australia on the 27th and rang in the new year in Hawaii!

It felt great to take some time away from golf.  Although, I still made time to get in a round and go to the range here and there. I can’t help it! It is my passion!

I have never felt so refreshed! I can not wait to start off the 2010 season.

I hope everyone set some good New Year’s resolutions. I did! Want to hear them? Ok well here it goes:

1. To stay in better touch with my friends.

2. To love and enjoy where I am at each moment.

3. To stay committed to my golf process.

4. Worry less about results.

Anyway, hope you have a good first week back!

Anna
